The countdown has begun for Manchester Day, Manchester’s big FREE family day out, which returns on Sunday 23 June, from midday until 6pm.

An exuberant celebration of a proud city, for its people, by its people – come and help us celebrate 10 out of 10 as Manchester Day returns to the city centre for the tenth time.

What is Manchester Day?

Manchester Day is an annual event that celebrates everything great about the city. It is a day for families, residents and visitors to get together and celebrate all things Mancunian that have made Manchester one of the world’s most iconic cities.

Each year, we give Manchester Day a theme. Find out more about the process of how Manchester Day is created.

Given that this big day out is such a crowd-pleaser, and it’s our tenth year, we’ve chosen the theme 10 out of 10. We’re giving the best city in the world ten out of ten for its successes in industry, science, music, fashion, education and sporting achievements. Who or what in your community would you give 10 out of 10 to? What are the top ten things you love about the city? We give its people ten out of ten for resilience, creativity and a warm welcome to strangers…what qualities would you like to celebrate?

Manchester Day 2019 will be even bigger and better than ever! As well as an amazing parade through the heart of the city (look out for our new route), Manchester’s city centre squares featured a dazzling array of performances, decorations and mouth watering food and drink throughout the day.
